Dive & Marine Life Support
Course
2017-09-23 to 2017-09-30

This course/trip is organized in cooperation between Outdoor Medicine (responsible for the course content) and travel agency ‘Eigen Wijze Duikreizen’ (responsible for organizing the trip, e.g. accommodation and contacts with the dive school). Dive School Dive Friends Bonaire will be responsible for the dive equipment and will be guiding the dives.

The course will be held on the beautiful island Bonaire. We will stay in the dive resort Den Laman, situated directly at sea. The dive school ‘Dive Friends Bonaire’  is nearby.

Participants without dive certificate (PADI,  SSI,  NAUI) will be given the opportunity to obtain their PADI Open Water certificate (partly) during the course. However, bear in mind that the swimming pool dives and theoretical part will have to be finished previously (you can do so in your home country). Please contact Eigen Wijze Duikreizen (EWDR) for more information.

Alongside the course programme you will have plenty of opportunity to make extra dives by yourself in the afternoons, or to make special dives under the professional supervision of the dive masters of Dive Friends.

The instruction language will be English (as long as there will be English-speaking course participants; otherwise the instruction language will be Dutch).

Course fee is including:

  • Stay during seven nights in an appartment situated in Den Laman (you will have your own bedroom in an appartment that you will share with one fellow student).
  • Breakfast
  • Lunch
  • ‘Unlimited’ shore diving (tank, unlimited air fillings and  lead)
  • PADI re-activation for students who have not been diving for more than two years (through Dive Friends Bonaire)

Course fee is excluding:

  • Flights (arrival and return)
  • Dinners
  • Rental of dive equipment (you are of course allowed to bring your own equipment)
  • Travel Insurance (including coverage of diving/water sports): please bear in mind that this is mandatory for all course participants!
  • Cancellation Insurance

Additional options:

  • Private appartment (extra payments required)
  • Book an extra person (non-course participant) in your apartment (extra payments required)
  • PADI Open Water Course (this concerns only the dives in open water; you will need to have finished the swimming pool dives and theoretical part beforehand). (extra payment required)
  • Specialist dives (extra payment required)
  • Book your flight directly via EWDR

Registration  and  payment will be facilitated  through the website of  EWDR. The minimum number of participants  is 16. If this number is not met (60 days prior to the start of the course), the course will be cancelled.
