Human activities around the world are exceeding planetary boundaries. With many people involved and concerned about sustainable development, we aim to organize the conference with a minimal footprint. To make this happen, these are our tools:
CO 2 – compensation for humanitarian travel
With international keynotes, flights are bare necessities. We aim to compensate all of the travels to Amsterdam and we hope that you will take into consideration using public transport instead.
Donation Rewilding Europe
To realize a climate and carbon-neutral conference we will donate a substantial amount of our funds to Rewilding Europe. The goal of Rewilding Europe: Making Europe a Wilder Place. A Europe where natural processes can shape our landscapes and give us the good things in life, such as health and wellbeing, wholesome food and clean air and water. With a progressive approach to nature and wildlife conservation, working with local partners on large pioneering projects, they create more biodiverse habitats in Europe. With financial aid, they can restore ecosystems that can come to look after itself. Naturally functioning ecosystems are better at providing us with clean air and water, preventing flooding, storing carbon and helping us to adapt to climate change. Last but not least, they value experiencing the thrill of wild nature, improving health and wellbeing, and building a shared sense of humanity and pride.
Plastic, Paper, and Printed Materials
Plastic proliferates at the bottom of the world’s deepest ocean trench, and atop pristine remote
mountains. We ban the use of single-use plastics during our conference. Also, for
advertisements and information during the conference we will make use of online content
only.
