Return of the tourniquet
Tourniquets have been adviesed against for many years to stop a bleeding extremity because of a higher chance of amputation of the limb. Latest insights and experience in the army have shown that tourniquets save lives in a pre-hospital setting and rarely cause harm to extremities. Continue reading here.
Snakebites Lecture NSEP
Maybritt Kuypers (Outdoor Medicine) and Richard Mastenbroek (Advisor Snakebites Havenziekenhuis Rotterdam) lectured on the acute management of snkebites on the yearly conference of the Netherlands Society of Emergency Physicians (NSEP/NVSHA).
