Course
2024-04-07 to 2024-04-09

Approximately half of the course will be a hands-on experience where scenarios will be trained in small groups. The other half will consist of lectures on the following subjects.

  • Bites and stings
  • Avalanche
  • HEENT (Head, Eye, Ear, Nose, Throat)
  • Altitude illness
  • Dive Medicine
  • Patient transport
  • Organising emergency evacuation
  • Hyperthermia
  • Hypothermia and frostbite
  • Drowning
  • Water disinfection and purification
  • Lighting strike
  • Wound- and fracture management
  • Infectious diseases
  • Medical kit preparation

Before the course, you will receive a link to download an eBook version of the AWLS textbook to enable a thorough preparation. The study load will consist of at least 4 hours.

Certification

The course will be completed by a theoretical and practical exam. Resit of the practical exam is possible on the same day. Resit of the theoretical exam will be scheduled within 3 months. Certification will be based on full attendance and satisfactory completion of the theoretical and practical exam.
