Leonieke Vlaanderen

Leonieke is a Dutch Emergency Physician currently working in the UK. She has worked for the Search & Rescue service in the Dutch Navy and she is now completing her Emergency Medicine training in England. She has worked with several Air Ambulance services including London HEMS. At the moment she is medical advisor for the Brighton Lifeboat crew having been crew herself for a few years. Other passions are cycling, running and (How relaxed!) reading.

Mark Frederikse

Mark is a military and board certified emergency physician. He became PADI divemaster in 2007 and open water scuba instructor (OWSI) in 2012. He works in the Netherlands as hyperbaric medicine physician, international patient tranfer/retrieval physician, and teaches various Advanced Life Support courses (AWLS, DMLS, AMLS, TECC). He also works as ship physician. In 2018 he became one of nine Dutch people to ever achieve the international Certificate in Travel Health™? (CTH®?). His hobbies are snow skiing, scuba diving, travelling.

Wouter Jetten

Wouter is founding member and board member of Outdoor Medicine. He is an Emergency Physician and works aborad regularly on project basis as trainer and expedition doctor. His home in The Netherlands is an historical sailing ship which is still sailing. Wouter has worked as ship’s physician for Greenpeace in the Arctic, in the Carribean, in a rural hospital in North-Cameroon and as expedition doctor at the Kilimanjaro. Wouter has broad experience as teacher of the international STCW/IMO-course ‘Medical Care on Board’ for nautical officers.

Jacco Veldhuyzen

Jacco works as Emergency Physician at the Southern Coast of the UK in Brigton. He is certified as Medical Examiner of Divers and has experience as ship doctor in the  Arctic and Antarctic. During his training he has travelled a lot and has worked in the tropics (Surinam) and Carribean (Sint Maarten). He is an instructor for Outdoor Medicine since 2016. In his spare time he likes to dive, mountainbiking, canoeing and hiking.

 

Annemarie Wuister

Annemarie Wuister is a general practitioner in training in Rotterdam. She has worked as an intern in
India and Peru and loves to travel. Annemarie has worked in several refugee camps and is a
ships doctor on the North and South Pole. She lives in The Hague, in order to have enough
time for her favorite hobby; kitesurfing. Besides that, she is also a catamaran instructor and
gives first aid training at the sailing school. When on a holiday, she likes to do overnight
