Dive & Marine Life Support '22 - yachting edition
Course
2022-05-21 to 2022-05-28

Practical information:
This course has been organised as a partnership between Outdoor Medicine and Amorgos.
The course will be given from aboard several Bavaria 51 cruisers, which will be chartered by
Amorgos. During the week we will sail in flotilla in the waters around Sukošan. Amorgos will
organise a skipper with local knowledge with whom the course faculty will create a route –
dependent on weather, medical parts of course and diving locations. One of the yachts will
be under the supervision of the Amorgos skipper, the other yachts will be skippered by
Outdoor Medicine faculty. The yachts are only a few years old and meet all technical and
safety requirements.
A large part of the course will be filled with sailing. Aboard the relatively small yacht we will
work as a team to keep everything running, this means that cooking, cleaning as well as the
technical part of sailing are integrated in the course. During the week everybody will be
given the chance to practise their sailing skills.
The dives during the course will be under the direct supervision of dive masters and local
diving instructors. All dives (including all materials) are included in the course!

The week will start in the Marina of Sukošan on Saturday the 21 st of May 2022 and will lead
past several islands and if possible, to coastal towns, back to Sukošan where we will arrive
back on the Saturday 28 th of May.
Members without a diving certificate (PADI, SSI, NAUI) might be able to obtain their PADI
open water certificate during the course. For this there will be a surcharge. The pool dives
and the certificate will have to be completed in your home country. The open water dives
will fit in during the course and will be organised with the local dive school. However, it
might be more practical to complete a dive certificate prior to commencing the DMLS
course.
When not actively engaging in the medical part of the course, you will have time on board
to help with various maritime jobs and obviously there will be plenty of time to enjoy the
sailing and to admire the beautiful views around the North Dalmatian coast.
The primary language during the course will be English unless there are only Dutch speaking
participants in which case the course will be presented in Dutch.
Included in the price is:
– 8 nights on board a Bavaria 51 cruiser in a shared cabin, to be shared with 1 other
course member
– All dives including materials (regulator, buoyancy control device, tank, lead, fins,
diving mask)
– Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Excluded is
– return flights to Zadar/ Zagreb
– Travel insurance (including cover for diving/ water sports): THIS IS MANDATORY

Outdoor Medicine is organizing the Dive & Marine Life Support course together with
Amorgos. Amorgos will ensure the quality of yachts and provide an experienced skipper
with local knowledge of the waters. Outdoor medicine will provide the actual medical
course, the organization of the dives, catering as well as manning one or more of the yachts.
